Can the screw that is used in the INVISAGRIP® Connector split the decking board?
No. Due to the smooth sideward installation, splitting of the boards is prevented in most cases. The provided screw is fixed to the joists only so the screw itself doesn't touch the board itself.

Can the double angle design of the INVISAGRIP® Connector split the decking board?
No. The Installation Tool allows the Connector to penetrate the side of board without splitting. It works like a nail; furthermore a split wouldn't be visible on the deck, as the only penetration is on the side of the deck board.

The V2A and V4A grips are made from stainless steel. V2A is a chrome-nickel composition and has the material number 1.4301 (AISI: 304), V4A material number 1.4435 (AISI: 316L) is based on a chrome-nickel-molybdenum composition. The V4A Grip is a special engineered fastener for pool areas. The steel contains an important coating giving the steel a better resistant against chlorine.
